Does it cost anything?

No. Posting, sending a note, picking and marking done are all free. OddlyJobs takes no cut of what you pay a neighbor.

Then how does it stay up?

I run it. The board earns nothing on purpose. What I charge for is setting up boards like this for other towns and churches (here's how).

Who can see my phone number or email?

Nobody, unless you pick them or they pick you. Then the two of you see each other's contact line, exactly as you wrote it. Your email is never shown to anyone.

Do you check people out?

No. OddlyJobs doesn't run background checks. A done job means a real neighbor marked a real job finished. Meet in daylight, agree on terms in writing, and never pay a stranger up front.

What is Help for free?

A post for when you need a hand and can't pay. Neighbors and churches who want to help can find them in one place.

What about bigger jobs?

In South Carolina, construction-type repair work over $500 in labor and materials generally needs a registered or licensed contractor. OddlyJobs is for the small stuff. For bigger work, check the license with SC LLR.

What are the posts stamped Example?

Samples so you can see how the board works. Nobody is on the other end of those, and they never count toward any number on the site. Real posts always show first.

Where did Weird Jobs and the Tool Library go?

Retired on November 8, 2026, so the site does one thing well. Nothing anyone posted was deleted.

Can I take my stuff and leave?

Yes. Your account page has a "Download my data" button and a "Delete my account" button. Both work right away.
