Last updated November 8, 2026. In plain words: what OddlyJobs keeps, who sees it, and how to get rid of it.
What I keep
- Your account: your email, the name you pick, your town if you set it, and your contact line. Your password is stored only as a salted hash; nobody can read it, including me.
- Your posts: title, details, town, when, what it pays, and your name. These are public. Your contact line is not part of a post.
- Notes you send ("I can do it"): seen only by the person who posted, and by me if there's a report.
- Your contact line: shown only to someone you pick, or someone who picks you.
- Reports you send: seen only by me.
- News on your account page: short notices like "you were picked." They are not emailed.
- Page-view log: for each page opened, the page address, the page you came from, your browser's user-agent string, and a short piece of your session ID if you're signed in. No IP address. It's used to count traffic.
- Server logs: standard web server access logs, which include IP addresses, used only to keep the site running and stop abuse.
What I don't do
No ads, no ad networks, no Facebook pixel, no selling or renting anybody's information, ever. OddlyJobs takes no payments, so there are no card numbers here at all.
Outside services
Pages load a cookieless analytics script (Plausible) that I run myself. Fonts and everything else come from oddlyjobs.com itself, and the blog's posts come from my own content system.
Cookies
Only the ones that keep you signed in. Details on the cookies page.
How long
Your account and posts stay until you delete them. There's no automatic deletion schedule yet; if that changes, this page will say so.
Your copy, and deleting it
Your account page has a Download my data button (a file of everything that's yours) and a Delete my account button (your account, posts and notes, gone right away). Or email intake@mattcreates.com and I'll do it within 14 days.
Desktop apps
Books, Clients and Work run on your own computer and keep their data there. Nothing from them comes to this website.
